How WhereToEatNYC chooses, verifies, and corrects information
The random picker, restaurant database, and editorial guides serve different purposes. Picker candidates need usable location and category data, an operational business status, and enough information to support a real visit.
Editorial coverage never improves random-selection odds. Profiles are manually selected to explain meal formats, neighborhoods, budgets and planning constraints, and they link to restaurant-owned sources checked on the displayed verification date.
Restaurants cannot pay for a higher probability. Reported closures and material corrections are reviewed before database or editorial changes are published.
